Dimension: 15cm
Materials:
- Chenillove yarn by Rico Design, 100% Polyester.
- 4.5mm crochet hook
- Stitch marker
- Soft stuffing for amigurumi
- Black thread for sewing eyes
Technique used:
- Single Crochet (SC)
- Magic Circle
- Increase Single Crochet (meaning you make 2 SC into 1 stitch)
- Invisible Decrease
- Half Double Crochet (optional only if you want to make the scarf/cowl): meaning Yarn over, insert your hook into the stitch, yarn over and pull up a loop (three loops on your hook), then yarn over and pull through all three loops at once.
Make the head
R1: 6 SC into magic circle
R2: Make an Increase in each stitch before = 12
R3: *1 SC, 1 Increase* repeats * 6 times = 18
R4 to R6 (3 rounds): SC all around = 18
R7: *2 SC, 1 invisible decrease* repeats * all around until a small circle remains. Stuff in the soft coton as you go about closing the circle. Cut yarn, leave a long tail to sew in later.
Make the body
R1: 6 SC into magic circle
R2: Make Increase in each stitch before = 12
R3: *1 SC, 1 increase* repeats * for 6x = 18
R4: *2 SC, 1 increase* repeats * for 6x = 24
R5 to R7 (3 rounds) : SC all around = 24
R8: * 2 SC, invisible decrease * repeats * for 6 times = 18
R9: SC all around =18
Remember to put stuffing as you go.
R10: * SC, invisible decrease* repeats for 6 times = 12
R11: SC all around and fasten off. Cut yarn and leave a long tail to sew in later
Make 4 of this patterns for the 2 hands and 2 legs:
R1: 6 SC into magic circle
R2: *1 SC, 1 increase* repeats 3 times = 9
R3 to R8 (6 rounds) : SC all around
Fasten off and leave long tail yarn to sew in later. Remember to put stuffing as you go.
Make 2 ears
Make 6 SC into magic circle
R1: 6 increases all around = 12
R2: 1 SC in each stitch previously = 12
R3: do *2 SC, 1 increase *, repeat 4x = 16
R4- R8 (5 rounds): 1 SC in each stitch = 16
R9: *1 SC, 2 decrease* repeat all around, and at the last stitch you will do 1 SC = 11
R10 – R12: 1 SC all around
R13: *1 SC, 1 decrease* x 3, then do 1 decrease to close off.
Do not put stuffing in the ears.
Make a scarf (cowl) — optional
Make a Slip knot
Do 25 chain or more if you want longer scarf (cowl)
Then do half double crochet for the whole chain
Turn your work and do two more row of half double crochet to the back loop only throughout the whole chain.
Connect the chain to make the cowl and wear over the rabbit’s neck.
Sew in the eyes and nose as photo.
I like to make it long sleepy eyes, but you can choose however you like.
For the nose, I sew a little triangle.
